Faith and Romance redux

Apparently I only talk about two things on lj these days :)

I've read two romance novels since I last checked in: His at Night by Sherry Thomas and The Runaway Duke by Julie Anne Long.  And I think I had unfair expectations for both, because I was hit twice by the disappointment stick.

Mild spoilers ahead:

If I were to chose, I'd say the Thomas books ( Read more... )

Arang is great and Jun-ki is very different from his character in My Girl. It lagged slightly after a few episodes but boy has it picked up again! And Hanadan references!!

I am enjoying Faith and Arang but I prefer Nice Guy which started very recently so it has plenty of time still to go off the rails and be terrible lol. (also To the Beautiful You but thats because its full of pretty people, romantic OTP moments and silly hijinks XD) I'm actually behind on Faith and Arang atm. I dunno they are really good dramas but I feel like I have to force myself to keep watching them each week. Like when I finally watch the episodes I enjoy them. But I never feel super compelled to keep going and its an effort to make myself watch the new episode's each week. idk what the problem is....

Arang is definitely worth a try, if you're still wondering. LJK has matured/looks older since coming back from army service, and it's a good look on him - plus his character is nothing at all like Jung Woo from My Girl, if you don't like that one. Right now the draggy thing about it is that we have to wait six days for a new episode, but I like the way it's paced so far, with the romance and mystery/supernatural stuff.
