Tonight was a first. Now, everyone has their own unique opening night traditions. I know one girl whose parents would wake her up the morning of opening by singing "Another Opening, Another Show". I have a friend who insists on eating the same lunch every day that a show he is in opens. For me, it is hearing my dad, in person or by phone, sing

my tradition is hearing my mom tell me "Sing out, Louise!" It's from Gypsy, the famous stage mother Mama Rose says it to her daughter Louise. :-) And if anyone else says it to me, it's the weirdest thing in the world to hear! lol

I'm sorry you couldn't talk to your dad to carry on your tradition :-/
