Crane let himself into the house. He'd been successful in his effort to divert the woman's suspicions, but he'd need to follow up on the matter. There was also the issue with Elise's behavior at the restaurant - she'd have to be dealt with as well.

She heard him come in and promptly picked up the book she had beside her, settling in as if she'd been reading since she'd arrived home. Elise knew she was due for a scolding for having disturbed his dinner, but... Well. She'd had to get a look at that woman, now hadn't she?
