2. Nope. They didn't explain. But it's supposed to be implied that they were involved romantically.
I think there are only 3 movies planned in the Bourne trilogy, but I think Ludlum actually wrote 5 books. I don't know if the Bourne/Nicky stuff is in the books or just implied in the movies.
Actually, I think they did explain Nicki and Bourne. She used to be his handler, didn't she? She was his contact point while he was on assignment, I believe. And yes, we were also supposed to think they were involved, but I think it started out professionally.
I netflixed it last week and had the same wuh? that Lex did about the exact nature of Nicki and Bourne so I was digging around teh intarwebz about it. I can't remember if it was IMDB or wikipedia, but there was something about how there was supposed to be this former Nicki/Bourne romance, but they never wanted to specifically address it. But who knows. I never read the books.
