I don't know if assaults are happening more often, but the misogynistic comments in reaction seem to be. I think the internet allows many more people to comment on stories like these in tones and with words and ideas that you simply could not get away with in RL. It's sickening.

I honestly haven't read Feministing for several months because I find it so depressing.
