Gangster Talk, Bom/Dara (kpopvalentines)
Title: Gangster Talk

A/N: Written for mildtigers' kpopvalentines prompt, "gangster talk". :)
Bom knows she's been losing her English. She also knows Seunghyun has been studying hard. Neither of these facts prevent her (or Dara) from laughing until it hurts at his awkward attempts at conversation. His usual MO, when he catches them talking to each other in English, is to butt in with a low "hello" or "wassup" or "yo" and then stare at them in fidgety anticipation.
Dara likes to talk just a little too fast for him and smile innocently as he agrees that yes, his hair looks a little retarded, or yes, he wears that McQueen ring to bed. Bom prefers to smile and nod at him wordlessly and watch him dig himself into very deep linguistic holes. She feels almost bad about it, sometimes, because it's not like her own English is perfect, but then Seunghyun cracks corn jokes at her and she figures it's only fair to let him sweat when he's struggling to remember a word or complete an overly-ambitious sentence.
"Hey shorties," he announces one evening as he walks into the studio, interrupting their work on 2NE1's latest song. Teddy raises an eyebrow briefly over the sheet music he's holding.
"Are you including Teddy in there?" Dara asks, all smiles, from her spot on the couch.
Seunghyun blinks at her like a startled cat. He opens his mouth, shuts it again, narrows his eyes, and considers the question for several seconds. "Nnno. He's a dude."
"'S wrong with that, dude?"
Teddy's joining in today - great. "Yeah, why can't Teddy be your shorty too?" Bom adds, grinning.
"You're out of luck, anyway," Dara declares, then links her arm with Bom's. "Bom's already my shorty, know what I'm sayin'?"
"What?" Seunghyun snorts. "You lyin'."
"We ain't lyin'!" Bom says, somehow managing not to laugh as she leans against Dara. "You got a problem with that?"
"Yeah, don't hate, man, that's just the way they roll."
"Fo sho."
"Fo shizzle."
"... Stop fucking around," Seunghyun grumbles in Korean. Bom can't hold it anymore, and the three of them laugh until they're wheezing and wiping their eyes while Seunghyun tries in vain to bring up whatever it is he came to the studio for in the first place.

"I like those shoes," Seunghyun says during a dress rehearsal for "Oh Yeah". The shoes are McQueen, of course, and Seunghyun's English is pointedly lacking his usual gangsta affectation.
Bom decides to be nice, just this once. "I like them too. I think I'll wear them for the--"
"Hey, don't be hittin' on my girl!"
Good thing Dara was sitting in on the rehearsal - being nice is boring, anyway.
"I-- what--" Seunghyun tries, then simply gives Dara the stink eye as she rushes over and puts herself between him and Bom.
"You try'na start somethin', man?"
She jabs Seunghyun in the chest. He looks unimpressed. "If you're really together, you should kiss or something."
Dara immediately turns on her heels and regards Bom with a determined scowl and a spark in her eye. Bom laughs and looks at Seunghyun over Dara's shoulder, trying to ignore the way her heart is suddenly fluttering. "You lost! You switched to Korean!"

Bom nearly forgets it's Valentine's Day until she finds the card on her night stand. It's made of pink cardboard and covered in glitter, cute stamps, and perfectly-drawn hearts. "~BE MA BOO~," the cover states in bold red letters.
"No, seriously :( You're really beautiful and funny and I'm cooler than Seunghyun" is scribbled on the inside. A sketch of Tam-Tam looks at her pleadingly from the bottom of the page.
Bom laughs and spends a moment staring at her cell phone, cheeks flushed and bottom lip between her teeth, before deciding what to answer.
"FO SHO," she finally types.
