Err... now what?

So, I've got most of the wheel of time books in my bookshelf, but I haven't actually read any of them. I've been meaning too, just don't have the time to do so. Robert Jordan is something of a legend in the fantasy epic genre, and I've been a little daunted by taking on what probably amounts to about 10k pages, total. Books one and two are worth reading. Beyond that...well, the suck factor increases exponentially. I think I finally quit somewhere around the middle of book seven...

I agree to an extent. Once Jordan's wife started doing all his copy-editing, things went downhill. While the first and second books were highly creative and filled with descriptive imagery not matched in many books, thereafter you can start to see filler material and the story begins to lose focus.

All in all, it remains a good story, if at times plodding... and I do think the last book will be put together. Just hopefully not by his wife.
