So, I evacuate and relocate to...Houston...where the next hurricane is projected to hit.

I'm in the process of preparing for Hurricane Rita. Anyone have a location they would like me to evacuate to? I can almost bet another storm will follow!

Sigh.

Hopefully this time I won't lose electricity or water or cable or...the house.

I don't want to admit Hurrican Rita. If I admit that it's coming, then I know that it's real.
Like talking to my parents and saying 'goodbye' until Saturday at the earliest and hearing my mom cry as she faces the reality that she's probably about to lose everything that doesn't fit in the car isn't real enough.
I just don't know how you're managing. I'm not and I'm not the one there. I'm the one fearing for my parents.

They left for Dallas late last night so I know they should be safe. But the idea of them losing everything after 45 years of marriage. I don't know - it's hard, but I really shouldn't be dumping on you about it. Ya know - here in NJ we don't really get hurricanes -- I'm more than willing to take in an OC fan-a-tic friend!!
