Month number four of writer's block...

May 13, 2010 04:01

This is pathetic. I have tons of abandoned, false starts in my Documents, and I read them over and they just...suck. I tried to write a goddamned 100-word drabble and couldn't even do that. I don't know what to do anymore...I've lost all hope.

*cries*

bitching, writing, flist, me me me

*hugs you tight*

I don't know what to say 'cause writer's block decides to kick my ass more and more often these days. I know we still have it in us... somewhere... right?

I have more than a few unfinished docs as well. They start out okay and then they turn cracky, which is only entertaining for like a minute, then it's just sad.

First of all, lol @ your icon. Nice dream, Peter?

Secondly, I know this sounds evil and bitter, but writer's block is not being too rough on you if you posted three fics in the last week or so! Me, I haven't posted anything since January. Nothing. It's like my ability to write has dropped off the face of the earth.

*hugs you back, then sniffles and joins emo!Peter in his bunk*

Oh thanks! I just got a bunch of new icons. And by "got", I mean that I stole the ones chibiariane posted today. The emo Peter one I made myself though. *pets him and his inappropriately placed hand*

Sadly enough, two of the three things I posted in the last few days I wrote late last year/early this year. I did manage to write a Heroes/Lost crossover that didn't end up cracky. I'm hoping it's a good sign.

I know you still have it in you! Have you tried writing in a different fandom?

Have I tried writing in another fandom? No, because I'm not really in any other fandoms, and there's nothing else on TV that I like enough. I like NCIS, but I don't know anywhere near enough about it to write in it. It would take me forever to learn enough about it and not sound like a total moron. I have been wanting to do a Nathan Petrelli/Tony DiNozzo forever, and yeah, there's the crossover Heroes contest, but there's no way I'll be able to get anything down in time for May 31. Not at this rate at least.

I used to write in Harry Potter but my muse for that died with the last book. Nathan's death must be doing the same thing. Time to hang up my hat, I think. *sigh*

I really should try that. Might help to see the boys when they were, um, together and one wasn't er, dead. :)

Sorry to hear that. :(
But maybe you're too hard on yourself? I don't know... I just love your writings up to now and I can't imagine that everything you wrote recently sucks.

I would recommend what commen_sense said. Watch the older episodes. While watching them I always get some ideas about what might have happened in between the scenes and write it down. :D

Please don't give up! D:

Thank you for your encouragement...

But maybe you're too hard on yourself?

This is definitely part of it.

I can't imagine that everything you wrote recently sucks.

It definitely does, trust me. And if it doesn't, well, then maybe it's just because I lose interest in it and don't finish. I don't know...

And omg, slightly off-topic, but your icon? I can't even look at it. ;_;

Would you ever consider posting what you have already? Maybe to a select group of friends that might be able to help you finish them off, whether it be through an offer of co-writing or just suggestions and praise to help you finish it.

Thanks for the suggestions...but I won't post anything unless I like it and believe that it is good. I think everything I've put down recently sucks right now, and I'm not going to subject everybody who knows what my good writing is, to my crap instead. :)

*sighs*

Hey honey! Long time no see you round these parts! Hope everything else is doing all right by you.

Writer's block is such a pain in the ass! You know though, giving up is just as frustrating as trying and struggling to do it. You just can't win!

Well, back to the blank MS Word document. ^ ^
