Overdue Update

A bunch has happened over the last couple of weeks. Changes in everything dealing with Aeiden, my birthday, my own outlook on things, work, trips, etc.

Aeiden
A couple of weeks ago, I went ogo visit Aeiden and found that they had changed the Social Worker assigned to the case. I'm not exactly happy about this. She's ready to give the baby back to Amy now, despite the fact that she's not following her case plan. We go back to court on Tuesday for yet another "status" hearing. I'm almost worried about what is going to happen there. On a lighter note, I received notice from the DA's office yesterday that the Child Support charges have been dropped, due to them being unable to get in contact with Amy. Now she has no shot of coming back after me for back support. it was good news when I got that. Made my day.

Work
They changed my schedule at work this week. I'm now working nights, 5 days a week. I get Wednesday and Thursdays off. The plus side to this is it gives me a $1 per hour raise as differential pay. The downside to it is it's causing me to cancel my trip to Cali this weekend. All in all, I couldn't really afford it anyway, so I think it might be better this way.

Now that I'm working nights tho, it frees up my days. I've accepted a contract to build a crap load of rack mount servers for a company. It's 11 days worth of work, stretched out over 4 weeks. I'm looking to make a pretty could chunk of change from it.

In other work related news, I went down and applied to the Electrician's Union Apprenticeship program. I need to take a few tests, before I'll be offered a spot, but it's basic Algebra and reading comprehension. I should have no trouble at all with this.

My Birthday and My Trip To Phoenix
My birthday started off a little disappointing, if you will. I had chosen an Irish Pub inside one of the local casinos cuz a friend of mine's band plays there on Tuesday nights. Well. He usually plays there. This night, there was no live band at all. But good friends and good drinks made for some good times. Even if I did dump a good beer all over my legs. I got drunk, without a helmet. It's a miracle I made it out alive ;p I'm all about birthday memories, not presents. This will be ojne to remember for a long time. To all of my friends that came out for it, it meant a lot to me. Thank you =o)

Flew to Phoenix the next day and finally got to meet Ivy and hang out with her for a few days. We ate a lot of ice cream, but got distracted and forgot all about Rolos. Ivy had classes and a bunch of other stuff to do with her family, so I got to spend a lot of quality time to myself, away from everything. It was good. I came to a couple of long awaited conclusions. The biggest one, I'll write about in another blog. This one will be long enough as it is. Ivy was a lot of fun to hang out with. She kept asking me if I thought she was acting like a 5 year old cuz she was so excited. I kept trying to assure her that I didn't think so. 4 year old maybe, but not 5 ;p Spending all that time down in Tempe again rekindled my desire to move down there. Dunno what it is about it, but I like the town.
