I was so jealous. I really apperciate romantic shit like that. He totally took the effort to think this out. He likes you for who you are and what he knows about you so far. I'd tell him straight up that the only thing that is coming out of this is friendship, and just hang out as friends for a awhile...and if nothing happens nothing happens...it's not the end of the world.

but the worst thing you could do is give him a pity date. Just keep over using the term friends when talking about this matter. He'll get it.
