I have to take a prescription regularly to prevent an ultra painful disease that can cause tumors, cysts, scarring, internal bleeding that I am at risk for. I have been in extreme pain for years and I'm so glad I finally have a doctor that actually found out why I have pain so bad that I can't stand up, and there's an effective treatment for it. It happens to be a hormone treatment.
One pharmacy refuses to give me my prescription without giving me a lecture about how I shouldn't take my medication that my DOCTOR prescribed me because I should be open to having babies whenever the hell the opportunity arises. To the point where it becomes a shouting match IN THE STORE. The guy has even interrupted my transaction with another pharmacist to lecture me. "I don't take it for birth control" "yeah...you take it for pain, I believe you but you should really think about what you're doing." Douche doesn't realize that if I DON'T take it, I'm at a high risk of not ever having kids due to all of the damage that happens without medical regulation. So I should wreck any plans of having kids (and risk needing surgery) in the future because the dirtbag thinks it's more important that I should be open to an accidental pregnancy and risk never having kids instead of being responsible- waiting till we're ready AND taking care of my own health. Fuck that guy for DECIDING FOR ME that accidental pregnancies are more important than preventing the need to have my organs dissected.
So I left there, and went to another place. They on the other hand *never* have my prescription on time, so I am missing several days worth of doses. Today they had me waiting for an HOUR while they were doing nothing in the back...there were no customers they were helping...they were just hanging out. This happens EVERY TIME I go in there.
So someone finally comes back out to help me, and they go "oh, we'll have to order your prescription". But I had called YESTERDAY and they said it would be in TODAY, which it is not and now I have to go back TOMORROW. Meanwhile I'll have missed half a week of my medicine. What is the point of taking a medication that is supposed to regulate your body when they never friggin have it in on time, and LIE about when they'll get it in? (As a note, if I could call it in earlier, I would- Insurance doesn't let me call it in until the last minute.)
This is really prompting me to just ask my doctor about getting an implant or going in for shots every few months because the pharmacies out here are so difficult it is retarded.
