what the FUCK is up with the pictures on dust jackets? they are so bad. they make me want to vomit all over the book, not read it. i was at the library today looking at some books by some authors i've never read, and man, going by the dust jackets alone, i would have never EVER EVER! picked them up if they weren't recommended to me by someone i ( Read more... )

comedy was good in the 90's.
oh wait, that was the 80's.
well, music was all right in the 90's.
oh wait, that was the EVERY OTHER ERA EXCEPT FOR THE NINETIES.
unless you count red hot chili peppers, silverchair, and the counting crows 'good.'
hyperglove? c'mon???
but for the most part, yeah. most things WERE bad in the 90's.

Oh man, well, you really can't just make a blanket statement like that... you have to appreciate the 90s aesthetic(s) for what it is/they are. Like (early 90s) shitty splatter painting modern art, grid patterns, "the future", Bret Easton Ellis, shoulder pads, and then later you have the whole coffee house thing. Yes, none of this is "good" taste-wise... but it's so out there it really has to be appreciated, through a lens at least.
