Maggot Brain & 70s Funk

I've been listening to The Temptations, Parliament and Funkadelic recently, and have been vastly enjoying all of it. Can anyone recommend me some other music along those lines (I've exhausted my usual sources)?

This also re-familiarised me with Maggot Brain by Funkadelic. The greatest guitar solo ever performed, that I have heard. The story goes ( Read more... )

Truly some spine-tingling playing there. Thanks for turning me on to it. I started the whole album downloading before I went to bed, and enjoyed listening to it all at work today.

Sorry I don't know of anything in a similar genre to recommend, but as far as emotionally charged guitar improvisation goes...

That is very nice, I've always loved Tubular Bells.

Glad you enjoyed Funkadelic, although the rest of the album is nothing like that first song, it's still all great.
