I've been really excited by the (relatively) recent revolution in downloadable console gaming. The ability to have countless inventive, unique or just damn good games at my beck-and-call for a nominal fee is truly a marvel.

From games with such spectacular design, concept and execution that they verge on art (Braid, World Of Goo), to games that just ( Read more... )

I've just played Passages on your recommendation... and wow, fantastic game. I won't say too much, it'll spoil it for others, but it's simply just left me in deep thought. I'm reluctant to go back and play it again in a different way, I feel like I've made my choice and I can't change it :P

took me a little bit of time to nut out the controls exactly but for so few words, so much is said.

I too only played through it once. it definitely feels like one of those things that is different for everyone and to replay it would change or spoil the... well, Magic.

Its a game that you either get, or you don't. Its more an interactive art-piece than a game anyway.

Oh, something in the whole 'games as art' category that I can highly recommend is ICO on the ps2. It's definitely something that you'll either play for 5 minutes then stop or play through in one sitting and have memories of for a long time. It's nothing short of an art piece in my opinion.

Yeah, I've been meaning to get my hands on that and Shadow Of The Colossus for quite some time, especially with the Last Guardian (or whatever its called) due mid-2010. Do you happen to have a copy? :-P

Also, I played that Knytt game last night. Couldn't put it down, and finished in one sitting. Pretty brilliant.

I Have a copy of Shadow of the Colossus if you want to borrow it. It's set in the same world as ICO but has very different game play. Also very highly recommended but very different.

I don't have a copy of ICO unfortunately =( I've been meaning to buy it just to add to my collection.
