School.

Today is the first day of Technical College. Mondays and Wednesdays are my long days; I go to school from 12pm to 8pm, with a one hour break at 4. I don't have any Friday classes; yay!

Things are still a little weird regarding the fire; people are helping out, but what I really need is for my financial aid checks to come through so that I can go ( Read more... )

Intro to GIS, Geography for GIS, basic CAD, programming concepts, contemporary American society, and one other programmy kind of class. There seems to be a lot of programming in this, which is why I'm keeping my options open in terms of what "major" I'm taking. So far from the classes that I've taken, the teachers seem mostly nice, and incredibly willing to help.

hmm..there wasnt really any progammy type of class i had to take for geog..but i didnt do the straight gis one. there was also a gis/cs combo, i think, which probably had the programmy stuff--but i think that was based in the cs department? anyway, what im saying is that even though i know you most likely wouldnt want to, you could always try to get a second degree from the uw--less of a programming emphAsis. if you decide you want gis minus prgmmng.

This seems to deal a lot with the actual map making bit too... but I do know that even if I don't use the degree, I have an assload of really good classes under my belt that an employer would look and and say "crap! you know how to do that? Awsome." Or something like that. :)

Actually, I was thinking that eventually I would go back to school. Part of the reason I picked sculpting was because I enjoyed it, but it also didn't have a math or foreign language attached to it. Now that I have the foreign language and math done, it would be fun to go back and do something else. Maybe after the 10 years of loans are paid off, and a bunch of other stuff I have to do, then I'll think about it. :)

Fire? Forgive me but I'm out of the loop not being in Eau Claire anymore.

My apartment burned down 6 days before Christmas. The only thing I was able to salvage was a set of dishes, my pottery, and my Nintendo which was totally undamaged and works fine. Everything else is a total loss. That would be the fire that we're referencing. :)

I pretty much thought so. On the up side I'm going to be getting a new kitty from the Humane Association. :)

Hey a couple of things....

1) There was mention of an IM...what name and what IM if you don't mind sharing that info

2) to get rid of that annoying pop up there is a quiz that you took and posted that is now protected so you will have to delete it...I don't remember which one it is

1) I think the IM thingy (I'm pretty sure that's the technical name for it) that I use is AOL instant messenger. I'm sure there's better ones out there, but it's also the one that I can get in touch with Sabrina on. My name on there is crawenwaru (I don't remember if I capitolize it, try it both ways). I usually try to coordinate a time with people via my email, and then I just try to avoid being late. You can reach me at poehnlja@uwec.edu for now, and then I can get you my other email address once you use the school email address (I certainly haven't gotten any less paranoid since you've left.)

2)As far as I know, part two is now completed. I will recheck this site once I send you this post and refresh the screen.
