I finally got my financial aid, which means that I was able to pay rent, buy shoes, and a new pair of pants.

I scooped a live snake off the road with a stick and put it in the grass. Most of the kids that were standing around it seemed more scared than helpful. The whole process took less than 10 seconds, but everybody involved (even the snake) ( Read more... )

I actually don't ever recall any snakes on University property, but it doesn't surprise me at all, given the type of terrain and types of food that could grow there.

The kind of snake that rocks! Or just a mostly yellow snake with some brown markings. I was pretty sure it wasn't poisonous (by the shape of the head) and it was probably big enough to eat mice. Other than that it pretty much seemed like it was your average garden snake.
