I think I read that book back in seventh grade. Even then Johnny irritated me. I think Dally was more up my alley. And Sodapop is the coolest name everr. Ponyboy is a little fruitish.

you know, i worked this summer with a 38-year-old male waiter--5'2" and rumored to be bi-- named "pony." i heard him tell a customer the nickname came from having the same number of letters and initial sound as his last name, since there were too many "joses" around. right.
