Dream 003: Warning! *sorta* Spoilers for Chain of memories!
The scene opens in the white room where Namine had lived during Castle Oblivion. Nearby Axel was sitting with his back against the wall; his hands behind his head. He would glance at them occasionally; just to make sure they were behaving and not trying to escape.
They were sitting on the floor a few feet away from Axel. Just behind Namine her chair rested with her sketchbook lying on it. Namine was pouring tea into a cup while she talked to someone. She looks up and suddenly her companion comes into view. It appears to be Riku. But his hair is braided with blue ribbons and there is something strange about his eyes. they seem almost empty, devoid of something important.
"Here's your tea, Riku." Namine says handing him the teacup.
"Thank you, Namine." He says looking at her and smiling. "You are a true friend to me. I promise I'll protect you from everything." He takes the tea and drinks it while Namine pours herself a cup and sips quietly.
There is a soft chuckle from Axel who had closed his eyes and was looking as innocent as possible. Namine sticks her tongue out at him producing another chuckle and resumes her tea party with Riku.
That's when the door bursts open and Vexen comes storming in. "That is NOT a toy for you to play with Namine! He's a delicate scientific creation, NOT A DOLL! You are not to dress him up or have tea parties with him, or anything of the sort!" He glares at Namine who cowers away from him. The Riku Replica is on his feet sword drawn instantly; standing protectively over his Namine.
"You will not talk to her like that! I enjoy playing with Namine. You will not yell at her or threaten her in anyway! Not while I'm here to protect her." He glares at Vexen coldy.
The Chilly Academic laughs cruelly. "Don't get saucy with me replica! I created you! I can just as easily destroy you!" He turns to Axel and glares "Axel! Why aren't you making Namine work! She has an important job to do!" He then turns on Namine. "Back to work with you, girl! Those.... you know! [whatever he was going to say is distorted. It seems Namine was able to block his words through sheer force of will. However, those of you that know she can manipulate memories will hear the following] Those memories aren't going to manipulate themselves you know!"
Axel rolls his eyes and Namine looks close to tears. "Give me a break, Vexen. What are you going to do after you work the poor girl to death? Let her have a little fun."
Vexen simply glares at Axel and the scene dissolves around them. When it reforms Sora and Riku are fighting; with no sound. Namine watches from the sidelines with a terrified look on her face. Sora deals the finishing blow and Riku falls to the ground. Sora approaches Riku but Riku shoots a burst of dark energy at him.
"No! Riku stop it!" Namine cries out and suddenly the sound is back in the scene.
Riku, however, ignores her and runs at Sora yelling, "Die, fake!"
"I SAID STOP!" Namine screams and Riku jerks back and crumbles to the ground in a broken heap.
The scene shifts again and Sora waves back to Namine as he, Donald and Goofy leave her for the stairway. She turns back and smiles at the Riku replica whose heart she had broken to save Sora. "Don't worry my friend. I'll fix you. Those of us who were never met to exist; we have to stick together." She bends down and smiles at him her back to the rest of room. The scent of flowers and the sound of a corridor of darkness are the last two things before the scene shifts again.
Namine is being held hostage by Marluxia, when the Riku Replica appears from a portal in the middle of the air. He leaps down and slashes at Marluxia, forcing him to retreat and getting Namine away from him.
The scene shifts again and this time they are standing alone. Sora, Donald and Goofy run out of a door and Sora locks it. It looks like they are talking, but there is no sound. Riku smiles and waves; then walks away.
Namine wakes with a start reaching out for him. "Riku Replica..." She mutters sadly. She falls back to her pillow and sighs. "Wonder what ever happened to him. I miss him."
