i83.photobucket.com/albums/j309/kitzu-jama/Kingdom hearts/namine/namine non icons/Namine.png [Background] Namine was created when Sora freed Kairi’s heart from his body. Namine was born without Kairi’s memories, making her an unusual nobody for two reasons: 1) she is born from Both Sora and Kairi. 2) She doesn’t have Kairi’s memories (memories of her past life). Because she was born from Sora’s body she has the power to manipulate his memories and the memories of those close to him. This power leads her to being used by The Organization and DiZ.
Namine is used by Marluxia and Larxene in their attempt to take over the Organization at Castle Oblivion (C.O.). She is forced to Manipulate Sora’s memories to make him forget Kairi and think that Namine is his friend. She rebels against Marluxia and Larxene and helps Sora to regain his real memories, even though this means that he will forget her.
Sora goes to sleep in a capsule so that Namine can restore his memories. Under the supervision of a mysterious man named DiZ, Namine moves Sora, Donald and Goofy to the old mansion in twilight town and begins the process of memory restoration. The whole process takes her a year. At the end she confronts Sora’s Nobody: Roxas. She tells him that Sora needs him to be complete and that they will see each other again someday.
DiZ tries to punish Namine for her interactions with Roxas and orders Riku to kill her once she finishes her task of restoring the memories of Sora, Donald and Goofy. Riku instead leaves Namine in Axel’s care; returning the favor of the help that Namine gave him when he was trapped inside of Zexion’s illusion in C.O. Namine gives a moving speech to Axel about how nobodies can have people that are dear to them.
Namine’s last appearance is in The World That Never Was. She appears before Kairi who has been taken prisoner by Saix. Freeing her somebody they search for Sora. However being so close to her true self causes Namine to blink in and out of existence as she begins to return to her true self. After Riku arrives and rescues them from Saix; Namine lets him take over protecting them and vanishes completely.
Namine appears one last time after the final battle with Xemnas in a transparent state. She summons a corridor of darkness to take everyone home and has a conversation with Roxas. After this she returns to Kairi for the last time.
[Personality] Because Namine has no memories of her past she had nothing to base her personality off of. She simply followed the orders of whoever was closest to her. This lead to her discovery of her ability to feel; her actions that hurt others caused her to feel guiltily and responsible. She often rebelled against her captors due to this guilt and developed a determined more driven personality.
Unlike other Nobodies, Namine actually has real emotions. (she and Roxas are the only ones with this ability.) This is because her heart is still alive within Kairi’s body. There are several examples of this throughout the games.
Namine enjoys spending time with her friends and peaceful quite moments. She dislikes being alone and being used by others. She’ll choose her friends over peace and quiet.
Namine is not shy; rather she is quite and wary of strangers. She has been used often enough that she is slow to trust others. Once you gain her trust (and become her friend) she is a life-long friend and would do almost anything for you. She is fiercely loyal to those she deems worthy. (i.e. Sora, Roxas, Riku, Kairi)
[Specialties/Abilities] she can manipulate the memories of Sora and those close to him through her drawings. Manipulate in this case means: change them (implant false memories), erase them completely, and restore them.
Her powers of memory manipulation are limited even though they seem extremely powerful. She can only use them on Sora and those close to him. (meaning that they either have to be connected to him >like Roxas< or Sora considers them important >like Kairi<) the closer that people are to Sora the less influence Namine’s manipulation will have. (While she was fixing Sora’s memories the Hallow Bastion restoration committee forgot him. But Kairi still remembered him even if she couldn’t remember his name.)
Namine also has access to the corridors of darkness like other nobodies. she also has no fighting skills what-so-ever.
[Affection]Namine is fine with holding hands with others (so long as she knows them very well). She's not big on affection but cute little things are fine. (shoulder pats, head rubs ect. she probably won't know the true meaning of it anyway.) if she doesn't know you very well she'll probably freak out if you try and touch her (she's been abused in the past so she's a little bit skittish when a hand comes at her)
[Fighting] Namine is not a fighter but that doesn't mean she won't rush into a fight to protect someone she cares about. her one "fighting power" (used in the loosest of senses) is to break someone's mind. she can only do this to those who's memories she can manipulate however so it's VERY limited in useage. (and she feels terrible afterward and spends several days trying to fix the damange)
(for more info on this ability reference her ability section)
all in all, she's not a fighter. she can still be hurt in fights but she won't attack back >victim<
[Other Permissions] it would be in poor taste to bring up her experiences in Castle Obvilion. but you can if you want. other than that, no limitations that I can think of.
[Other Facts] a further explanation of her past abuse: When Namine was working for Marluxia and Larxene in Castle Obvilion she suffered greatly at their hands. they tormented her both with words and occasionally with physical assult. Namine believed that Sora would hate her because of what she had done to him (thanks to Marluxia's twisted words) when she finally defied them, Larxene smacked her across the cheek so hard Namine went flying and hit the opposite wall. shortly after that, Marluxia used her as a human shield to protect himself from Axel and then Sora.
she likes to draw.
