Summary: A young God plots
Alcides always resented not being born till long after the reign of the Gods. He never got to know the feeling of being worshiped. Of gaining power as the people of Greece prayed.
Alcides was born during the “new” generation of gods. Those who came after the fall of Greece and Rome. Those that came long after people worshiped or prayed for their crops and protection. Being born in this new generation Alcides would never even know the feeling of people believing in him.
It didn't help that Alcides had been born to one of the most powerful gods in the pantheon, Ares god of war. So Alcides knew he would have become one of the most worshiped and powerful gods himself. His father is the heir to the throne of Olympus, Alcides deserved to be worshiped
At this point most of the greater Gods had stopped even interfering in the mortal realm choosing to lounge away for the rest of eternity, including his father. How the other Gods could just allow themselves to become nothing in this world. Just lay around and act like they shouldn't be worshiped, like humans shouldn't be on their hands and knees every day praying for the Gods to grant their every desire.
Things were going to change very soon if Alcides had his way. Yes, Alcides had other plans, even if they didn't fit the role he was supposed to play now. Humanity would know of the Gods again if he had his way.
