Yesterday I finally bought myself a new gaming sketchbook, among other things, from Utrect. I picked up a similarly-sized notebook but with paper that should be suitable for my Copics, because I've been itching to use them for, oh, about a year. Mr. Dunbar, our school's choral director.

I didn't know I could sing until he told me I could, and he taught me how to make the most of it.  He always said two things that I will never forget.  First is, "No matter how small your voice, if you sing well and clearly people will listen."

Well, we COULD stop using high fructose corn syrup, but that's one of the few things I'm not an optimist about. :(

I've always loved documentaries, and I've come to realize that my view of nature documentaries has changed as I've gotten older.

Classic example: Cheetah vs. Gazelle.  When I was little I would think "Oh no, poor gazelle!" and I would root for the gazelle to escape.  In my mid-teens my view changed to, "Oh well, that's nature," and I didn't really ( Read more... )

I read a lot of webcomics, but here are two I think my LJ friends would particularily enjoy. ^_^

First is A Softer World - It's a webcomic made from photos (mostly polaroids amd 35mm) and arranged very artistically with captions on them.  Subversive, funny, a bit biting, and sometimes melancholy but not depressing. The alt text is fun to read, so be ( Read more... )

 
Because despite my constant abuse of it it still functions beautifully.

It heals quickly even when damaged (Go Wolverine-like super-powers!)

I hardly ever get sick.

It brought my daughter into this world with hardly any fuss or complications.

And most importantly, it looks nice in slinky things. ^_~
