We seem to have an insatiable need to show ourselves off - what we've learned, what we opine, what we've experienced, etc. I don't think most people are genuinely interested in others' such claims to importance beyond their relevance to one's own collection. I suppose the most appropriate thing to build from the remnants of a mass destructive tragedy is an engine of destruction. Not that structural analysis ever yielded results; since 1871* we've known better than to muddle progress with patience.
