A HA HA HA!!! Jury duty...I'm never going to get over that. It doesn't stop being funny. It was your own wise and ever-endearing boyfriend who commented that it's the little things that are important in life. Without getting too philosophical, I think that people respond more positively (with sympathy, comfort, understanding) to the bigger things because we know how to deal with them. We've been taught that death, failing, natural disasters and the like are very important and that the person experiencing those things should be attended to. We've received no such lessons regarding the smaller things. And since people are naturally (in my opinion) self-centered, they don't automatically empathize or give the same support they would for one of the larger things. Also, it depends on how you relate your woes. If you make the little things sound like they're big things, they will likely be given 'big thing' status. I know that's only in response to one of the points you made, but I figure if you wanted me to write a book, you
