I'm so tired I can barely focus on the keyboard, but I wanted to post and say that the party was lovely, despite the nauseating steaminess that is Iowa in August. I'm always happy to see everyone, and I'm glad so many could make it. Next time, I will place an order for more bearable weather

Being a SAHM is so rewarding with a little one. They grow more into a real person every day, and you're there to see it and appreciate it and participate in it. It's also enough to drive an otherwise intelligent, interesting and slightly warped person even battier. Being deprived of significant adult contact is not always fun

Please tell Molly I'm so glad she likes the pad of paper! Butterflies are one of my very favorite things too -- the next time she comes to visit, I'll show her my butterfly book, which has lots of cool photos.

Also, thank you for the invitation to come and visit, and for the advice about the libraries. I did in fact (finally) get a library card at the local library a couple of weeks ago, and I knew immediately that this was something I had been missing and hadn't realized it. My parents took me to the library every Saturday when I was a kid, and they still go themselves. It's a great way to feel connected to a community, and it's fun to pick out new and interesting things to read (things you can return if you don't like them :) and recommend to others if you do).
