This is a desperate cry for help to my fellow drama students. I'm confused!
What are elements and conventions and how are they different from techniques? I'm pretty sure I know but I'm getting frustrated and muddling them up so could you guys and girls give me some lists so I know which is which?

All theatre has elements. Examples are:

Mood
Character
Setting
Time
etc

Conventions are the ways these are put across. Examples are:

Split stage
Spotlight
Live music
Traverse stage
etc

Techniques I'm less clear on, but I think they're specific to the actors, for example Laban.

Techniques are the things an actor uses - voice, movement, gesture & space.
