In August 2005 I intent to cosplay as Miss Valentine from One Piece with my husband Toby as Mr 5. His costume is nearly complete already. Mine needs some work. Therefore I am going to document the making of this costume in this journal.
Here's two pictures of Miss Valentine for those who dont know her.

Heya, I never noticed you'd added me as a friend, gomen!
I'm not very active on LJ, I just float around some communities so I'm not sure if I'm the best person to add, but I don't mind. ^^

That's pretty darn amazing that your husband cosplays too! I am truly stunned. I take it he's an anifreak too. :P I saw in your profile that you're a fan of Full Moon wo Sagashite. *thumbs up* Fantastic series! I see we at least have the same taste!

You were on my friends list for my old journal (n33ty). For some reason or other I wanted a change and didn't feel like paying $15 for it so I made a new one. You're one of the lucky few I kept on my list because I always liked reading your entries. Anyway, that's who I am if you've forgotten.

My husband hasn't cosplayed yet but he hasn't protested about it too much either. He's actually made suggestions as to what should be in the costume :) I dont think I'll ever be able to forget how lucky I was finding him for a husband. Where most couples sit down to watch Eastenders together, we sit and watch Bleach.

And as for Full Moon Wo Sagashite, I dont think I could love that series anymore. I watched it when it first appeared on fansub and laughed and cried (a lot) right the way through. Takuto is the ultimate bishie :D~ I've recently found the manga so I'm starting to read through that. It really is a great series.

Ah! Of course I remember you! The new nick threw me off!

You are definitely lucky to have a guy like that. I personally think Eastenders rots the human brain. (along with every other soap in the universe).

Keep us updated on the cosplaying though! I would love to see this costume when its finished. ^^

Wooo!! You just have to show us some pictures of you in that costume later, together with Toby!! ^_____________^ And Valentine looks cool but I can't help it but to notice that her hat looks like a pot... or maybe a lemon... ^^;

It does! I think it's meant to be a 20's style felt hat. It's going to be the biggest challenge when making this costume. I do have an idea for knitting one though. I'll be sure to upload the pictures when I have something suitable.

That's wicked cool! I've always wanted to try and cosplay before, but I haven't got the time or money right now. Although watching my LJ friends cos is always a blast. And you got your hubby to do it with you! That is the single most coolest thing I have ever heard. I cannot wait to see some pictures of you two together ( ... )

I think it was the earrings that made me want to make the costume. I'm in the process of making them now. Just waiting for a few ingredients to arrive.

Do I make my own costumes? Yes, I'll be making most of it. I might buy a white dress and dye it if worst comes to the worst but hopefully I'll be sewing it myself. My aunt is a seamstress so she'll be helping me out. This is the first cosplay that I've ever done so I dont have any pictures to show you from before. The only dressing up I've ever done in the past was either for a school play or on a University social even (a bunch of us went as Men in Black once which was fun). It's really great that my husband wants to do this with me. I think he's as excited as I am about it. :)

Hee hee, great minds think alike right?

My mum used to sew a lot, and I love to sew, thing is all the stuff I do comes out awful. I made a dress once and it came out completely wrong. Although it almost looked like a fashion statement of sorts ...

You most definately must post images of you and your hubby together cosplaying. I look forward to it. Oh, and MiB, that's a cool idea. Did you try and erase anyone's memory of that night after forcing them to have yaoi sex ... XD Joking!
