Note: next to-be-beta'd story will be done tonight, after groccery shopping. I'd do it here at work, but I started it at SVAC Sat and don't want to redo it!

As usual, I couldn't resist the opportunity to play with canon a little and bend it out of shape.
YOU, being, well, you, are allowed to do this any time you want. Other people, this is still a DON'T try this at home kind of a thing.

As usual, EXCELLENT story.
I really love how you used Jack and Sam in this and of course Lisa. I like how it's Sam at the end asking if he's all right... but still only Lisa that even sees anything.
I love the look into Martin here, as usually, and how he's changed and reverted and changed more.

(Also, with today's plastic "invisible" cards... it's a good thing no place has ever caught on to using them instead of the "normal" cards! Then Martin would be in for a challenge!)

Dude, didn't you read these stories? We're talking about Martin here! He would probably get out his junior chemistry kit (a Christmas gift from his aunt when he was two), and generate some kind of acid which he can safely drip onto his fingers, yet use it to create the smallest unevennesss in a deck of plastic cards.

Anyway, agree with Jenn here. Excellent! And Lisa was in it, too!

"You in love with those cards?" Jack snorts, clearly impatient and not appreciative of what he's seeing. "Quit playing with them like they're your girlfriend and deal."

I think I forgot to mention before that this is such perfect Jack voice that it makes me kind of regret that you don't write more Jack. Seriously, I can hear him saying it.

hello, I'm new at LJ. I loved this; I can see why Martin should be the better poker player than all of them, including Jack, and I love your style.

Thank you, and welcome! Friend away! The only reason I don't friend anybody back on this journal is that it's fic only, and nothing is ever locked. It's also the reason it's updated so sporadically: sometimes I'm on a roll, and others I'm not.

I agree... that comment about him not being good at poker caught me by surprise, and then I started wondering: what if he's not good on purpose? This is what came up. :)
