This is utterly beautiful; the way you captured Martin's thoughts process and Danny's, who shifts between mocking and open worry, so inherently Danny. You did both of them justice, and I finally found a believable story about Danny and Martin and the shooting.
The dialogs are something special, too, brilliant and witty, I could hear Danny and Martin having that conversation.

Danny takes a deep breath, like he’s trying not to cry, too.

And you had me almost on tears here, it's great how Danny, freaked out about the shooting almost as much as Martin, is able to overcome his fears and give Martin the honesty he deserves.
I liked, too, how you mixed in it those basic traits of Martin's personality: his need for control, his obsessions. Basically, I like each and every word of this story, I should quote it all, but it would get repetitive, just a big thanks for it.

Thank you, very much. As I said to my beta, it struck me while writing this that out of all of them, Danny's the one most likely able to get Martin to do something Martin doesn't want to do. He's just as stubborn, just as argumentative, and a little bit more creative.

And I'm one who read your story cuz Smilla recommended it! She knows me, and knew I wouldn't be disappointed. This is the first non slash story I actually read about Danny and Martin after their shooting.
I loved it. I loved to have Martin with a hangover and Danny being there, cuz he knows everything about hangovers and shootings... I wish the authors could insert such a scene in the actual WaT!
I wasn't sure that Danny could put on a brave face to help Martin, but apparently they are just going in that direction, now, with Martin starting to take pills and everything.
Of course, even if for different reasons, I agree with Smilla about the most moving phrase: Danny takes a deep breath, like he’s trying not to cry, too.

I noticed that you're writing for the 100 fanfics about a subject. Do you happen to have written other D/M stories?

First, I'm glad you liked it.

As for the other stories... they're not slash, but I refuse to do what the show's writers are doing right now and deny them common screentime. Martin and Danny play well off each other, regardless of genre.

You already read "Drinks", you mention. Others would include "Shots" (under the prompt Sound), and some upcoming works... the rest are pretty general Martin focused.

The entire journal here is dedicated to those 100 fics, just to make my bookkeeping easier, and so people who just want to read the fic don't get hammered by my sometimes strange ravings.
