*giant grin*

Now, that Boom I heard.

Allow me to reiterate that this is brilliant, and that the 'psychosomatic deafness' bit kills me. Just brilliant.

I'm glad you heard it that time. This being first season Martin, I couldn't do anything too dramatic, especially given the context of this story.

But just watching the way he stares after his father... You can just see it going on in his head.

I love the way you've integrated canonical elements from the episode with the rich backstory you've given Martin. I wonder if that Victor waiting in the hospital room would do things differently if he had seen this boom.

Thank you.

I don't know. You almost get the idea that Victor knows more than he's letting on, but he doesn't know how to deal with the disconnect between him and Martin. Especially in the context of Martin's comment in 3x09 (Trials) about how the "men in [his] family aren't particularly into the close thing." I almost get the sense that Victor would like to know Martin better, but doesn't have the first idea how to go about it. And since by that point, Martin's already given up...

I so love this. Especially the way you write the relationship between Martin and Victor. Just great!

Thank you. It seems like it's just such a complex relationship. And given the title challenge, I just couldn't resist... it's probably the most volatile relationship on the show, that's for sure.

And Act 2 of today's show!
I like this one because of the interaction between father and son and Martin's spot on (at this point in the series) description of Jack.... Plus how perfectly you worked the title into the story! :)
