I just did my first ever de-friending on LJ. I basically finally went back and weeded out inactive journals and people who had de-friended me already anyway. Inactive ones build up over time and I've been on here and actually active in LJ-land for about 4 years now

No worries - I'm sort of the same way with most people. I read everything and rarely comment on day-to-day type stuff cause I'm not sure what to say.

This is totally me, too. I feel bad sometimes because I read like, these deeply personal stories, but don't say anything.

A lot of the times though I find I just have nothing to say/add and it's like well do I comment with a single word then or...?

I figure thouugh that most people seem to be like that. I mean I don't get too many comments on my LJ usually unless it's something completely random and ridiculous. I don't mind though since I just really use it to vent and collect my thoughts. The fact that it's public is just so that people can keep up with what's going on in my life.
