I must be feeling better...

...because I'm thinking about chord progresions. Sometimes it really is tempting to just write songs that use only I, IV, V, and vi chords. Half of the songs on the radio are that way. Throw them all in C, G, F, or D...and you've got praise and worship in a hand basket. It's amazing what can be done so differently with so few structural changes. I ( Read more... )

Yes indeed you must be feeling better because I scarcely understand anything you say in your entry, haha. This would be kind of like me talking about building a computer and discussing CPU clock speed and how to correctly set up the fan/heat sink on the processor so it doesn't overheat and melt through the motherboard (which I have seen and it's awesome to watch) how graphic memory and RAM should be balanced and how to set the disk drives up in the proper master/slave sequence. But yes, it is good that you're feeling better :-)

Which is exactly why I have a thermometer fixed to my CPU connected to both a digital readout on the front of my tower and an automatic shut-off switch in case I start to overheat. :)

That is a good thing to have. CPU meltdowns are fun if they happen to other people's computers, haha. Right now I'm looking into those self-contained cases that have no fans and are entirely liquid cooled. Seems promising. I am such a dork.

Let me know what you find... because that'd wayyyy cut down on noise! And that is very important to me :) I had one of my CPUs fry itself in my old dual-processor machine. Now that guy has a terabyte or two of storage in it and is our home back-up server since it only has a 500 mhz processor left and we built it in a server tower. Seemed logical to stock up on hard drives on Black Friday sales and give it a use again :) Well, it spent a year or so searching for the highest prime number, but that's not really a practical ambition for such a dilapidated computer. Wow, is it sad that I'm sitting here realizing what a full life my old computer has had??? Built by my brother, went on a plane w/ my uncle to join my brother in Australia, came back with him after a semester... went to Radford with me for two years... went home to search for prime numbers after I built my own computer... and now is my parents back up server ( ... )
