Are you from Australia or did your mom move there? I'd love to visit Australia but it's on the when-we-have-more-disposable-income list.
No kidding on time flies, my daughter Penny is 16.5 months and I have no idea how that happened. I could have sworn I was just pregnant a few months ago.
Yeah, sorry about that. The Aussie dollar's gone through the roof in value lately, so the exchange rate won't favour you at all!
(I'm Australian :P)
Do you know where you'd be going? Where does your mother live?
It's a pretty variable country - about the same size as the lower 48 in the US - so I might be able to help you figure out what to expect and what sort of things you might want to bring...
Originally I was going to go to Vet school. But at the end of my 2nd year I did my volunteer hours at a few vet offices and the trend I noticed was they all were very burned out after only a few years. I volunteered at the animal shelter and loved that the best. Even though the animals are in bad shape when they come in I felt like I did more for them by caring for them and showing them kindness then patching them up and sending them back home.....
But I was already so far in my biology degree that it was to late to switch to something else at that point so I just finished it out.
We live in a town now that doesnt have an animal shelter or I would be applying there. And right now daycare costs so much b/c Chloe is little that I would have to be paid over $10/hr just to make daycare and my student loans so its cheaper for me to just stay home right now.
So I am kinda just biding my time looking for something that will interest me.

What did you want to do with the biology degree before you had Chloe?
