Several days late for Blog for Choice

I ran across this in one of the childfree communities. Basically, someone writing for a teen-pregnancy-related affilitate of Focus on the Family starts off talking about how she finally, finally gets the pro-choice point of view. So, she's saying no one really wants to control women's bodies or lives. Heaven's no, it's got nothing whatever to do with that. It's just we're too selfish and stuid to know or care that we're killing babies--we must be or we would be pro-life just like her. There is no other explanation for our failure to recognize the brilliance of the pro-life position at all, except that we're moral and mental midgets. And all she's saying is that we should leave our medical decisions in the hands of smarter and more morally coherent people, like her, who think unthinking, unfeeling fetuses should take complete precedence over thinking, feeling women. And if we don't want to let someone with such flawless logic take over our private medical decisions, well, they'll just have to make us. By force. But nicely, I guess. Because well-meant brutality is totally NOT brutality. Anyway, we don't need to worry about that. What we really need to worry about is not being able to trap men into marriage by getting pregnant with no recourse. Because ( ... )
