Liv tested at 11 when she was 1 (I think) but when she retested two weeks later she was at a three. We got a HEPA vacuum from a neighborhood association (you can borrow it for the weekend kinda thing) and vacuumed all the window sills, washed the floors with the dishwasher soap (high phosphate, I think?) and tried not to think about it. Xav tested at "less than 3" and they didn't give us a number, the lab only said it was less than three.

The insides of our window frames have lead. Our back door is peeling, but our kids are big enough now that I don't worry about them chewing on the woodwork.

Sorry your new house has it too!
(and I have never used the test strips. I am sure they would make me crazy!)

I learned all about the bus cuts at the parent council meeting a couple weeks ago.

Okay- I try really hard to ignore the lead. If i didn't it woudl drive me nuts. We have lead in the closets and on the radiators. I know there is lead in the dirt outside. Probably asbestos in the yard from the old "gravel" drive.

We don't wear shoes in the house- I try to keep them from digging in the yard dirt (garden and potted dirt as well as the sandbox are okay for digging). We wash hands when I get freaky and eat calcium fortified orange juice, lambs quarter, spinach and beans.

Lead seems to follow you around, dear one. I really really hope you can rest easier soon.

E was tested quite often as a babe and was always okay- prob from needing to be carried and nursing constantly.

Breastmilk is good to help fight lead. He is lucky to be nursing. Hugs.

can't find your phone number anywhere. have tried calling everyone. no one answers their phone!

it would help me a lot if you could come and pick up one garbage bag full of outgrown tricky clothes/footwear. the deal is, there's some amazing stuff in there (lambs wool sweater, almost-new hanna organic zipper, etc.) and then some less wonderful stuff. the deal is, you get the whole bag (my gift to you) and then you deal with getting rid of whatever you don't want (your gift to me.

sound okay? (i'm in prepare-to-move frenzy, which i know you understand, and am trying to get as much done in advance as possible, so the sooner, the better. plus there are some cute shorts, including a pair of knitted wool surfer shorts i had custom knit for tricky two years ago, in there that you'll want to start putting to use soon. spring!)
