Man, lots of stuff going on these days, and since i've been sick for 4 days, I've actually had time to write on LJ... Very Exciting... Anyway, here's something else really important to us.
Chris and I are getting a dog.
We're getting a dog!
hehe it's a dog!!!
We are adopting it from DFWpugs which is a rescue organization for pugs. She is actually a 5 month old pug/beagle mix that is named Belle.
We haven't gotten her yet. She is at the Vet being spayed (or is it neutered, i never can remember which is which), and since it's a rescue online, we really haven't gotten to meet her. But Chris and I fell in love with her just from her pics. We haven't really decided whether or not we're going to keep that name so we're still taking suggestions. That and there is always the possibility that when we finally meet her a name will just fit her. Regardless she is a very very handsome puggle.
When we first decided we wanted to adopt her, it said online that it usually took 10-14 days for the application to go through. However, for us we put our application in on Sunday afternoon thinking sometime in mid-November, but the lady from dfwpugs emailed us THAT night! She told us that Belle is available and needs to be picked up this Tuesday since it has no foster home found for it yet. That got Chris and I scrambling. We've been looking online to get us ready for our new family member, and we just had a shopping spree at Petsmart. I've emailed the lady from dfwpugs and told her we really need to pick her up at a later date though because we already had plans to go camping with Holli and Damon. Also, I'm working Tuesday (which is now today...ouch) and I really want to be there with Chris to pick her up. We're praying for Monday. That way we have a week to get the house ready. Sunday night, we started frantically "dog-proofing" the kitchen. Let me tell you, when Chris and I are motivated, we can get a lot of stuff done! Too bad it's not a normal basis thingy. :)
Anyway, regardless of when we're going to need to pick her up, we are so very excited. Chris has been calling people left and right telling them about our new family member. And I've been doing lots and lots of research on how to best take care of her. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm always up for them since we're both first-time dog owners. :) Well, more updates later!
There she is again! These are all pics from the website so I apoligize for their quality. I'm sure that once she moves into our home we'll have lots of pics of her. :)
