Ellen is starting a delicious crêpe bike-cart(lots of crepe porn) business. To help I am fearlessly subjecting self to a barrage of crepe tasting, it's brutal.
The trike has been begging to become a platform for selling icecream-or-something-delicious ever since we got it; guess Ellen finally caved in.

Biking in NZ was the best idea I ever had. But while biking there I wondered whether it's possible to find awesome backroads in USA/Canada. Then I stumbled onto PCBT. I mapped it, it certainly looks fun. Wish that details on things like there were more public.

Visiting a bathroom is often the most shocking aspect of traveling to a new country. It is meant to be a place of solitude where one should be able to relax to get the job done. Any deviation from normalcy in the dunny is disturbing and memorable.

We are about to catch our shuttle to the airport and move on to the fruity tropical military coup paradise that goes by the name of Fiji.

The BBC is usually relatively easy to agree with, but they got this bomber story totally wrong. Today they were speculating on whether he's gonna be called the "trouser bomber" or the "syringe bomber". According to their own damned reporting, the man "tried to set his under-trousers on fire"... I generally hate the concept of renting. Surrounding equity, lack of control over surroundings having to beg the landlord to get stuff done...But there are some upsides...Especially when stuff leaks. I now have hands on experience with 3 distinct toilet repairs, laundry leaks, dishwasher installation, etc ( Read more... )

I waste a lot of time on computer stuff. Going to log some of that on my other blog. Google doesn't index this blog, I'm look forward to being able to google my past like I can with my work blog.

The Economist this week has an awesome quote oh how Chinese leadership describes their brand of communism as socialism with a Chinese flavour whereas it is starting to look more like capitalsm with an American flavour. Sometime ago I also saw a documentary on Chinese markets and how you how Mao statues, watches, t-shirts, etc sell extrimely well. ( Read more... )

I had a crazy time in Toronto. The trip started out with me staying awake for > 24hours due to failing to fall asleep on the redeye..which resulted in me sleeping real well the following night and all of the subsequent nights.
