More and more I'm learning that whenever I think on any extreme, it's always wrong. Partially right, but still never the ultimate solution. It's hard to answer an extreme with a compromise, because the person with the extreme point of view just does not see anything beyond their thoughts and feelings at the time. Oh man your cake analogy cracked me up; it reminds me of MacArthur Park, which is a terrible song.

MacArthur Park is melting in the dark, all the sweet green icing flowing down! Someone left the cake out in the rain.
