i used to see films by my lonesome all the time. it was blissful at times, actually, for it allowed one to be completely immersed and captivated by a film without the ackward notion of having an acquaitence to attend to. i was emotionally more freeing also... no posturing of any sort. I am glad you liked the film, however
I find that the exact thing happened to me as well. I didn't realize until the closing scene of the film that I was completely immersed in the story and totally unaware of anything else around me in the theatre. That's never happened to me before. If I am with someone at a movie, a significant other if you will, I find it difficult to not focus them, their movements, my movements, and the like. Their very presense distracts me from the film. No one to attend to...you're absolutely right. Perhaps I will see movies by myself from now on, I quite enjoyed it.
