Dear 8th Graders who just  "graduated":

Congrats....now you're the lowest of the low....the freshmen. So here are just a few helpful words of advice:

1. When you come into high school in the fall, please dont try to

*sigh* isn't that a little...dramatic? yes I'll give you some things, the loitering in the hall is extremely aggrivating but with the replacing or beating upper classmen at things, I think that that's an important thing to try. Yes, I'm not particularly happy about having a new sophmore beat me in chairs but it was good of her to try and even to accomplish that. They shouldn't be discouraged to TRY to do something, bragging that they will is something they shouldnt do, but to TRY and be better then someone or to TRY and be the BEST possible is something they should do. If they beat an upperclassmen sometimes thats because they're better so they SHOULD beat them. Yes I know it's immensely frustrating to have such young people beat you but that just makes it so that you try harder yourself, i'm assuming, which can really only help you with playing and the band itself. There are always challenges, if you're beaten, then go and beat them yourself later, or if they decide to they can try to beat you, its something they're allowed to do and
