Resolutions

Emily,

It's almost the new year.  You're almost 17.

Even though you've told yourself constantly...stop procrastinating.  I know 2010 hasn't been the best for you.  Your grades have been slipping ever since you've entered your junior year.  The only scapegoat you have is that you have AD(H)D.  That especially sucks since this is the most important year where you have to take those silly SAT and ACT tests...and I know that testing is hard for you since you always freak out when one is placed in front of you, scrambling your mind and effecting your future.

I've also been aware that you feel like you've been drifting away from your friends.  Maybe it's because you feel like you're not as smart as them?  Maybe it's because your interests is what's keeping you apart from them?  It could be your ridiculous outlook on life.  Goodness, maybe you are depressed as well.  Perhaps it's all the stress that's causing you to procrastinate and perform poorly at school.  Well, you space out when it comes to anything, even when it's something you love...okay yeah, that's depression there.  Minus suicide.

But look on the bright side.  There are quite a lot of positives in 2010:
  • Awesome new tablet, Imported Green PSP, & Retro Camera
  • 1st Place in Classical Art & Miscellaneous Category @ the Regional Art Forum
  • The Winter Olympics was fun to watch!  (Lol, especially the mens figure skating!)
  • Passing the World History AP Exam with a 3!
  • Pokemon will always be amazing.
  • Shorter hair was a good thing after all.
  • Traveled to Seattle, WA!  City life is amazing.
  • FIFA WORLD CUP 2010!  Spain winning was just so damn cool.
  • Traveled to Georgia and stayed with childhood waifu tehwifeh_injp
  • Criminal Acts and Six Flags!
  • Concluded the summer with a big water gun fight...in the rain.
  • Awesome Total Lunar Eclipse happened.
It's quite disappointing that you won't be able to go to to L'Arc~en~Ciel's 20th L'Anniversary.  It's just impossible at this rate.  But just hope you can see them sometime in the near future.

So Emily, promise yourself that you'll do better.  Don't feel embarrassed or shy to ask for help.  It's not wrong to do so.  Emily, it's okay to cry when you feel like you need to.  Don't keep on holding it, quit being stubborn about it.  It only feels more painful when you lash out in dumps.  Absorb criticism to help you become stronger.  Even though it's really difficult to concentrate and to focus, keep on trying.  Never give up.  Accomplish all that you need to do, and it's okay, because you've done your best.  Also, quit being a shopaho- nevermind.  I know you're never going to listen to that one.

In short, just don't give up yet.  There's still a lot of time left.

Signed,

Emily-Joy I.
