I've been hesitant to tell people that I was doing NaNo. particularly people who'd never heard of it before. I told my mom, she said in a condescending tone "oh, so you going to write a little novel?" I told a friend and she said "...so what do you get if you finish." I explained that you get a novel, that you can then edit and have something that ( Read more... )

You've gotten far! Go, girl, go!

I know it is rather frustrating trying to explain to people about NaNo. I get the 'so what do you get' response almost every time. Oh well, glad you were able to find someone else to join you! =)

Yay mud! ...No wait, I mean, boo mud!

I've started strong, but it is getting harder. I might have to skip ahead to the next drama point and come back. How's your story going? have you gotten a chance to start on it?

I guess people who dont have the desire to write don't see why writing is a good thing. Me being the slacker I am every time I finish something I want to throw an actual party- because I never finish things. Finishing a novel length thing is far and away the best reward nano could have.

I just wrote the frustrating mud into my story, so yay mud, I guess. I will not be saying that when I go out and see Obi caked in it later, I promise.

Some do- some are just happy they finished a novel. I'm probably in the second category.

I hate. hate. hate hate hate hate hate hate HATE HATE when you tell parents something and they're like "oh you're going to [blank] a little [blank]?" My dad does that to me all the time. "Oh so are you working on your little picture?" ADKSDGFLSG I know he doesn't mean anything by it but it makes me SO ANGRY and if I tell him such (in a nice, polite way) he get super angry+defensive. aaaaugh

Keep writing!!!

It was really strange and kind out of character for my mom to say that. I think it was mostly that it took her by surprise, but it did kindof hurt. I didn't bother to talk to her about it. Oh well.

Thanks! I'm writing away still.
