Keito glanced at his watch and realized he arrived minutes earlier than her. Clad in a simple designed shirt, jeans and sneakers his guitar hanging casually on his shoulder.
Minutes pass by he finally notices a small petite girl among the crowd building up
and walking towards him. Umika bit her lip and looked up at him.
"Sorry, I was late. Did you wait for me too long?" She asked, smiling.
Keito shook his head "No, I just arrived as well." He smiled backed at observing her in her kimino.
"Let's go?" She asked.
He nodded "You look pretty"
Umika blushed and mumbled a soft thanks as her getas echoed along the streets while they took their time walking to the festival.

She ran towards the booth and watched the fishes swim in the huge basin. Her face glowed in excitement, Keito stealing glances by his peripheral. She draw out 100 yen from her coin purse and raised her kimino up on her arms and attempted to catch the fish. Once, twice, thrice, she failed.
"Mou..."Umika pouted.
"1 please" Keito squatted beside her.
Umika watched him as he concentrated while twirling the net with his fingers and
with one scoop, the fish was in the bowl.
"Here" Keito held her hand and placed the fish in the small plastic bag on her hands.
Maybe nothing will become of this but

"This is the last pack of Takoyaki..." Keito said as he sat beside Umika. "I hope you don't mind if we share it?"
"It's alright" Umika said as she watch families, friends, lovers roam around the festival.
"Here..."Keito offered her a piece of Takoyaki. "It's still hot" He reminded her.
She bit a part of the takoyaki and swallowed it immediately. "It is hot" she laughed while Keito followed right after
"I told you so." He said "Ah." He leaned over and grabbed a tissue, lightly wiping the sweet sauce off the corner of her lips.

"Keito-kun" Umika called the young boy standing near her.
"What is it?" Keito asked as he hung his guitar on his other shoulder.
Umika walked closer to him with her hands clamped together. She flashed him a toothy grin.
"Look" She showed him her hands.
Keito blinked twiced not understanding what she meant. "Fireflies" She said
He leaned closer at her hands and peeked at the small hole left between her hands.
"Aren't they cute?" She asked looking at it again.
"Yeah.." He said smiling at her "It is cute"

"Enjoy, your boat ride~!" The man said, pushing the small wooden boat off to the lake.
"Are you sure this boat is safe?" Umika asked, lightly trembling. "This is the first time I road a boat at night..."
"Me too." Keito confessed "But this is the best spot to watch the Fireworks display too..."
"Really?" Umika eyes suddenly sparkled in delight.
Keito nodded and he slowly opened his guitar case, pulling his trusty old guitar out.
"Eh"
"While we're waiting for the fireworks..."Keito lowered his head and strum his guitar "H-how about a little entertainment?" He asked slightly blushing.
On stage, Keito would be confident with his guitar but alone with the girl he likes? Well, that's another story.
He slowly played and sang with his guitar while Umika listened silently. She rested her chin on her hand and watched him with his guitar, completely forgetting that they're actually on a boat.
Just right after Keito sang his last line. Bright colors spilled across the sky, exploding.
"Umika..."
"mmm?"
"I---"
Fresh batch of fireworks exploded. The colors lightly reflected on their faces, the shade of pink, yellow, blue.
Umika smiled and nodded "Me too..." She replied"
