One of the parents picking up his kids mentioned he felt it, but he works in the upper level of a hospital, so that may having something to do with it. I sure didn't feel it.
I'm still pleasantly surprised no one was hurt. After hearing about the Haitian and Chilean earthquakes at the beginning of the year, you get used to the idea of them being very, very bad.
According to the news, the area is likely to get an earthquake of that size every fifteen to twenty years. But they are still small compared to other parts of Canada.
I'd have to brush up on my french if I went east. I guess spanish is more popular in California, eh?
The west coast of Canada is sort of like California. It's where we normally get our earthquakes. Lots of people worry about a big one hitting Vancouver at some point.
I don't think you need to speak Spanish in California, do you? There's... just a lot of Spanish speaking people. In Montreal I don't think I have to learn French, but it is the official language. In Quebec they do a lot to try and preserve their language so they discourage speaking English.

Yep, spanish is more popular in California. I've studied some of it but I'd sure need to brush up and study more if I needed to speak it there.XD
