as long as they can keep my private entries private, I will be a happy camper. The second that stops, I'm stripping my journal and leaving. In fact, I should probably strip my journal one of these days and just keep those entries on my computer.

Then again, with the advent of cloud computing, I'm sure we'll soon reach a day where nothing we type will ever be private. It will be interesting to see if there will be a resurgence in pen and paper sales if that happens. there's certainly things I type that I wouldn't want publically accessible.

The problem with the new set up is that if someone else comments on your entry, perhaps referring to your hidden content, and they link that comment, it takes away some of your privacy. So even if your entry is not linked, someone else can link their comment. I see this being a big clusterfuck.

oh, lame lame lame :-( no good. everything about private entries should be private. on the bright side, I think all the people who read my LJ are fairly intelligent and get that. I hope.

I would hope too. But I'm not too sure I want to take that chance. I've worked hard to keep my identities separate.
