[ The disgust, fear, shame, guilt, need -- it's all crashcolliding, burning up inside Kakashi and he doesn't want to feel it trembling through him. The Hitomi shakes in his hand, his breath short as he breathes. In and out. Slow.
The first part of the dream -- that had been him. She'd wanted that -- wanted him until it-- Orochimaru --
[ Sakura feels paralyzed with fear. She remembers that, being frozen by his mere presence and his killing intent. Mitarashi-san... had scared her at first, it was true, but she's always seemed so strong, so unshakable. It's all Sakura can do to not tremble.
She wants to say, "I'm sorry," but she doesn't. She doesn't really know the older kunoichi - she knows it will sound condescending and false. So she says nothing.
Sakura stayed up through the night after the first time she'd met Orochimaru. She doesn't think she's going to sleep tonight, either. ]
[This dream is something that does not surprise Itachi, even though seeing it leaves a dark, unsettled feeling in the pit of his stomach. This is what he knows of Orochimaru and his methods and Itachi knows that not only does he use those who put their trust and faith and lives in his hands, but he enjoys every minute of it. They are nothing more than means to an end for him.
And what sickens him even more is the knowledge that he drove his brother to this man--even though it was not his intention, but he should have known that it was what Sasuke would do--in his plans to push Sasuke to reach his full potential. And the thought that Orochimaru had his brother by his side for three years--the implications that this dream and what he already knew of the snake made him wonder if he had ever even dared to

[ Hakkai says nothing for a long moment. He draws his hand away.
He's venomously angry. Things like this speak well to his darkness, teases awake his youkai blood. He would tear out the man in the dream's throat in a second and take great joy in it. ]
[ But that monster - because the thing in that dream is not a man, was never a man, not to Hakkai - is not here. The one who's here is Anko, and she's suffering. Anyone one be. So without any visible sign of decision or gathering of wits, Hakkai goes quiet and gentle. Not angry in the least. ]
...If you find you are unable to sleep, chamomile tea with a little lemon grass is my stand-by for nightmares.
[ switch to private ] Are you alright being alone tonight? Do you have someone who can stay with you?
That's perfectly understandable. However, should you change your mind...
Well. I don't mean to presume anything, as I can't know what you've gone through. But sometimes having another person around fills a void you didn't even realize was empty, in your darkest moments. I can cook. I can listen. I can do neither, if you'd prefer, but should you need the presence of another, please contact me.
You are strong to have survived such a trial, but you do not have to go it alone any longer.
I may not be able to use my chi to heal this, but as I understand it... it does and can heal. Is healing. I'd like to help.
[ The fear and humilation and helplessness, the impotence overlays the same ache Neji felt (feels) a lifetime ago, witnessing his father writhe, clutching his head, the curse seal glowing through the cloth he wore wrapped around it. It didn't hide the stigma, not then, and right now, Neji can almost feel the pattern pulsating on his own forehead.
He knows how she feels, and that speaking to her now will do nothing but shame her further. He refuses to disrespect her to that extent. Instead, he turns the Hitomi off.

[ Under private lock, the smile slips slightly, turns soft and shaky, but it's still there. ]
I appreciate it, Hakkai-san, but on the contrary: I don't think I can be around people right now.
