I wondered about the prune juice, but some people are of the "when something is wrong in there, flush it out" school of thought.

Glad to hear dear hubby has been connected with a physician he feels comfortable with. I'm surprised to hear his employer expects a note for a single day's absence. Round here, it's usually only after three days.

As for his next meal, consider yogurt, which is wonderful for restoring the GI tract to a healthy balance. My beloved was frightened enough by his recent illness and the subsequent impressively large doses of antibiotics that he agreed to yogurt, (something I've often recommended by he's never eaten.) Now he's grown to like it, especially the Stoneyfield Farms organic whole milk French Vanilla, which he describes as tasting like ice cream. He trims it out with raspberries and strawberries from last year's backyard harvest that were packed away in the freezer.

Hope your dear hubby is feeling well soon.
