some of Obama's future cabinet kind of concern me rahm emmanual and eric holder namely. i'm still no great fan Hillary Clinton, but we shall see where this new leadership will take us (hopefully out of Iraq and Afghanistan). i still hold fast to my cautious optimism; he can't do any worse than the last guy ( Read more... )

I too have some serious reservations regarding obama's cabinet, none of the people hired represent any kind of actual (sorry, I know we're all sick and tired of the word) change in the fundamental policies that got this country into the mess we're in now.

I'm sorry about your brother man. Serious mental illness is a long long journey, but it will get better eventually. It just takes an awful lot of work and is exhausting for everyone involved. Just keep going forward.

love you. Sorry you're a humbug, but I'm afraid you have to come to our yule-iday party on the 19th.

the whole mental illness thing may not be as bad if i didn't work with 10 mentally ill people for 30 hours of my week, but then again...maybe not...

unfortunately i can only be at the yuleiday party in spirit because weekends really BLOW for me on the workfront... however i will send good vibes your way as i dispense meds and all the fun responsibilities and low wages that come with wonderful world of human services.

of course his cabinet selections don't represent change! anyone who thought obama was serious about change hadnt been paying attention to who his advisors have been all along the campaign trail ( ... )

unfortunately tuesday is the day that my chosen family gets togother and celebrate eachother, so barring any interruptions there, i'm always spoken for in tuesday nights.

i'm very cynical about most holidays because of their sordid pasts. i just can't divorce genocide from thanksgiving much that i just can't seem to divorce patriarchy and repression from the institution of marriage.
