I assume that they have like a mess hall or something. How is the food? I've heard they only serve cheap stuff like hot dogs, or maybe that's just for new recruits or something.

They have what they call Di Fac's - Dining Facilities.....and its pretty good food for pretty cheap. I got basically a Shoney's style buffet for like $4 They also have a Commissary with a Food Court and there is a Burger King and Blimpie's on base.

I'm glad your doing well. I spent 3 weeks in Missouri with my relatives on my dads side and wanted to kill myself. All we did was eat or sit and watch the bugs. the nearest mall was a 3 hour drive. I will not go back longer than a day or two lol.

but wow that's a lot a info to soak up.you can do it!!!

totally i'm learning so many terms and techincalities and laws and stuff for Teaching this year I dunno which way I'm goin half the time.

Things happen for a reason don't they? You wanted Alaska but chances you would never have found such a gold mine of info like your two new buddies. How lucky was that? Of course having a mushy head because of all the info being stuffed into it is the price you have to pay.....

all the planes from the base were sent to the lower 48 in light of the active volcano too....wish it would blow already!!!
