About motivation

I always thought of motivation as of positive event. Without it no dreams would come true. And I am not talking about sick stuff like motivation for murders or child molesters to be that way, but more like stimulation to create a better life for yourself, to reach your goals ( Read more... )

Both intentions are purely invented. Intention to avoid a certain future is invented by you (you think it up) as well as intention to have a great future. So, what you do is in place of intention dictated by fear, you invent an intention dictated by looking forward to a greater future = less anxiety, fun in achieving whatever you are after, and better attitued which all lead to better results. That simple :) So for example, you can originally think, "Oh, shit, I don't want to be poor." What you do is reinvent the intention, and create "I want to be wealthy in life." This makes the game more fun. Any time after that, when you see yourself thinking "I don't want to be poor." you just reinvent "I want to be rich" and continue with your fun life :)

Why are you so certain that it leads to better results? I think fear is just as good motivation as any. If not better. 'Cos when sit around and think "Man! That's life! I wanna have a huge house, great salary and Lamborghini Diablo" that's sound more like a dream then motivation. But when you go through your bills and think "Crap, I don't have money to buy food next month! I really really REALLY don't wanna be hungry" I think that would actually kick you in the head (or some other place)to go and do something about it...you know...

Because, really, your life is what matters. Your life is not a destination, but a journey. It's not some day, it is now. Now is all you have, really. If you spend your journey driven by excitement, passion, and fun, it will be by far a better journey/life :)

Висукя, you know I love you :) Let's not be dramatic :) We are not talking about whole life right now, we are talking about one goal out of millions you gonna have per lifetime. I'm in no way suggesting let's all get scared so we can reach our goals, of course it is much more enjoyable to have fun in the process. I am not even talking about the way you are gonna reach it. Because naturally, even if your goal was pure but the way you used to achieve it was through lying, cheating and hurting others - you would not be satisfied. Well, I wouldn't.
What I'm talking about is that push you got in the first place to stand up and do something. And I'm saying if your motivation was not even fear but let's say dissatisfaction of your environment - there is nothing wrong with it.

not just 'something better', but bring 'something better'

I think the key word is "better" = better then what I have = I'm not satisfied with things the way they are = join my fear club (Oh! Can I be a president?) :)
